15, GNA- Residents of Zenu in the Kpong Katamanso Municipality have been asked
to prepare for flood rated challenges as the rains set in.
In an interview
with the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Mutawakilu Bashiru ,Director, Kpone Katamanso
National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) said some residents have
defied all odds to build on water ways, making it difficult for water to flow
freely when it rains.

NADMO bossstated that, the situation
was affecting other residents as flash floods ended up in their rooms any time
it rained because the natural courses had been blocked.
He advisedresidents and prospective developers to
acquire building permits from the Municipal Assembly before building.

Some of the
residents whospoke to the GNA on
condition of anonymity, pleaded to the authoritiesnot todemolish their houses.
When the GNA
was leaving the site, officials of the Kpone Katamanso MunicipalEngineering Department were meeting with
stake holders to decide on the next line of action.
