Tema, July 14, GNA - Reverend Paul Morgan Adorsu, the Tema District Pastor of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) has reminded Christians that as the end time approaches, there is the need to guard against deceptive spirits.
Quoting from the Bible, Rev Adorsu said "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;"
He said some of the deceptive or false teachings going on in the world included forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them, which believed and know the truth.
He noted that meat when received with thanksgiving and prayer was sanctified and fit for human consumption.
Rev Adorsu gave the advice on Sunday in Tema in his homily during the climax of the GCCI Maranatha Assembly Junior Youth Week Celebration on the theme: "Effectual Fervent Prayers".
He advised the youth not to allow anyone to despise their youth; but be an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith and in purity.
He urged the youth to shun profane and idle talks; stating that “evil communications corrupt good manners”.
The District Pastor said the youth must honour their parents and the elderly in society, for God to bless them with long life and prosperity.
He said the youth needed to take their studies and skills acquisition seriously, to enable them to contribute to the nation's socioeconomic development in the future.
He also advised them to spend time to daily do their devotions, study the Bible and pray, adding that, “this would enable you grow into Christlikeness”.
