Koforidua, March 14, GNA - One thousand, one hundred and twenty personnel of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) had been placed in both private and public institutions in the New Juaben South Municipality.
This was disclosed by the Municipal NABCO Co-ordinator, Mr Micheal Adarkwa in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Koforidua.
He said in all 1,927 people made up of 1,090 men and 837 women qualified for placement in the Municipality under the programme.
Mr Adarkwah said no person with disability applied for the scheme in the Municipality.
He said in cases where the private sector applied for personnel from the scheme, the scheme entered into an agreement with the management of the private company so that, for the first year of deployment, NABCO would pay the allowance of the personnel, in the second year, NABCO and the company would share and pay the personnel’s monthly allowance and in the third year, the private company takes over the payment of the allowance.
He said his secretariat do follow up to check if the NABCO personnel deployed report as expected at their various work places and sometimes call the heads of the institutions to know if those posted to their work place are reporting for duty.
Mr Adarkwah said under the Enterprise Model of the programme, personnel of the scheme who expressed desire to establish their private companies and enterprises after the programmeand some who started some private enterprises and experienced challenges have been deployed to public and private enterprises where they are expected to be mentored to be able to acquire skills to establish their own successful enterprises by the end of their third year under the programme.
The scheme was established last year by the government to create job for the unemployed graduates in the country.
The scheme is being run under various models including Civic Ghana, Feed Ghana, Heal Ghana, Digital Ghana, Revenue Ghana and Educate Ghana.
