Prestea (W/R), July 14, GNA - The former Member of Parliament (MP) for Prestea Huni-Valley constituency, Mr Francis Adu Blay Koffie has declared his intention not to contest in the party’s forthcoming Parliamentary primaries.
Mr Koffie officially announced this at a press briefing in Prestea with some party faithfuls present.
According to him, he took the decision after a sober reflections and consultation with families and friends.
He hinted that the immediate past District Chief Executive (DCE), for Prestea Huni-Valley,Mr Robert Wisdom Cudjoe’s decision to participate in the contest also encouraged him not to join the race, adding that, “I have therefore decided to throw my weight behind Mr Cudjoe, who contested on our ticket in 2016".
The former NDC legislator said stepping aside would strengthen the unity they were currently enjoying in the constituency.
He reiterated his support for Mr Cudjoe and appealed to his followers to rally behind him and continue to work hard for the party and their Presidential candidate.
‘It is my fervent hope that we will all put the past behind us and forge ahead in unity. I know my brother Cudjoe will receive hundred percent endorsement from our hard working delegates in the primaries”, he added.
