Yandi (NR), July 19, GNA - The Seventh-Day Advertist (S.D.A) Educational Fund through the commitment of the Regional Manager of S.D.A schools supported 600 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates this year.
The beneficiaries; who were selected from five regions received large quantities of pens and erasers costing hundreds of Ghana cedis to assist them in their examination.
Some of the beneficiary candidates are the students of Yankazia Junior High School (JHS) in Saboba District, Pimpela SDA JHS of Bawku Municipal Assembly, Lingbinsi SDA JHS of North Gonja District, Bupei SDA JHS of Central Gonja District, Jakayili SDA of Tamale Metro among others.
Giving out details to the Ghana News Agency in Yendi in the Northern Region, during a meeting of SDA teachers, Pastor Osei Owusu Sampson, Regional Manager of SDA schools of the five Regions indicated his commitment to ensure that the over 12,000 pupils and students of the SDA schools in the regions performed well.
He was accompanied by Pastor Adeji Mensah Chaplain of Tamale SDA hospital in their school.
He said he had been visiting all the SDA basic schools in the five Northern Regions to ensure that the teachers were punctual to school to teach and to find out their challenges.
He announced that the challenges facing the schools included; classrooms, text books, furniture, in most of the remote schools.
He commended the Yendi SDA JHS for always scoring hundred percent in the BECE examination in the Yendi Municipality.
He said the Kpandai SDA JHS in Kpandai district has also been doing well among the other SDA schools and support for candidates writing final examination was always necessary as
some parents could not afford to support them.
He appealed to parents to support their children in their education as government alone could not do afford everything.
He commended the Government, Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service for posting enough teachers to the S.D.A schools.
