June 12, (Xinhua/GNA) - Algeria has strongly condemned the "terrible
massacre" that hit the Malian village of Sobame Da, which claimed the
lives of dozens of civilians.
Algeria "strongly condemns this horrible massacre committed against isolated citizens in the village of Subame Da in the center of Mali, while extending condolences to the families of the victims and expressing solidarity with the people and the government of Mali," according to a foreign ministry statement.
Gunmen raided the ethnic Dogon village of Sobame Da on Monday overnight, killing at least 95 people, while 19 people were missing, local media reported.
In March, local sources said that a Dogon militia was accused of committing massacre in the Fulani ethnic village of Ogossagou, leaving at least 159 dead.
