Sunyani, Jan. 31, GNA ď A 75th minute penalty converted by Emmanuel Owusu of Tano Bofoakwa enabled his side to beat visiting Sampa United 1-0 in their national first division league football match played at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Wednesday.
Even though the home team emerged victorious, their performance was below expectation and the few spectators who thronged the park hooted at the teamôs coach and the technical bench for the poor performance.
Sampa United led by rasta-haired speedster Isaac Mensah dictated the pace of the game but missed several scoring chances.
Bofoakwa who drew nil-nil with their arch-rivals, B.A. United at the same venue last Sunday had few bright goal-scoring chances, but failed to utilize them.
During the second half Sampa United improved their game forcing Bofoakwa to play more defensive instead of attacking, but it was short-lived as Bofoakwa managed to take over the game and mounted pressure on their opponents, and a defender of Sampa handled the ball in the 75th minute and Owusu scored the only goal of the match with the spot-kick.
