Ernest Kumi who took the second position, defeated Kusi Boateng and Eric Johnson on count-back after they had returned 74 net apiece with the fifth position going to Kojo Choi with a net score of 75.
In the Men’s Group B reserved for Handicap 15-28 golfers, Godfred Sekyi came first with 67 net, Mattlack Tessa took the second position with 72 net, beating Philip Ayivor on count-back while Anthony Appiah placed fourth with a net score of 73.
In the Ladies segment, Maureen Akuako emerged champion with 66 net, while Esther Antwi took the second position with a net score of 77.
The Closest to the Pin prize went to Paul Owusu-Baah while Pamela Yeboah won the Ladies segment.
The day’s 18-Hole event, which was at the invitation of Mr Serame Taukobong, Chief Executive Officer of MTN was aimed at interacting with the customers of the company and also socialise with them and award them.
About 100 golfers drawn from the golf clubs in the Greater Accra Region, participated in the competition.
Frank Akwasi Opoku, Captain of the Celebrity Golf Club praised the company for their immense contributions towards the development of the sport.
He called on other corporate bodies and other institutions to help develop the sport to an international standard.
Mr Taukobong gave the assurance that his outfit would continue to help the development of the sport by supporting, the club in the ensuing years.
