Accra, June 12, GNA - The Accra Commercial Affairs Court on Tuesday, granted Attorney General’s petition to place an injunction on all football activities in the country.
In a court ruling today, the “petition filed by the Attorney General (AG) Gloria Akuffo, has placed an injunction on all football activities in Ghana, as well as preventing current Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executives from performing functions conferred on them.
The move, forms part of governments effort to cleanse the system in the wake of the Tiger Eye PI expose, where football administrators including referees and the GFA President Mr.Kwesi Nyantakyi, were seen engaging in all forms of corrupt activities.
According to GNA Report, the AG, who carried a copy of the Dzamefe Report and citing particular sections, told the court that the GFA has become an ‘obscene emblem of scandal, corruption and illegal enterprise’, where Gloria Akuffo also described the GFA as instrument of ‘self-aggrandizement and an instrument used by some people to enrich themselves’.
