Accra, Sep.10, GNA - Ghana kicked out the Gambia in the opening game of the FOX WAFU tournament at the cape coast sports stadium on Saturday.

Both teams failed to grab the lead despite the many chances they created to end the first half barren.
Coach Maxwell Konadu introduced Hearts of Oak’s duo, Thomas Abbey and Patrick Razak to help the attack just after the break.
Defender Samuel Sarfo came closer to breaking the deadlock with a 30 yard thunderbolt but his effort went wide.
The Stars kept pressuring the Gambians as Captain Isaac Twum’s strike hit the crossbar on the 60th minute.
With two only minutes left of the additional time to end proceedings, referee Boukari Mohammed did not hesitate to point to the spot to award a penalty to the home team after Thomas’s Abbey’s strike hit the hand of Sanney Bun.
Vicent Atinga made no mistake to get the win for the Black Stars Ghana.
