Dormaa Ahenkro, April 18, GNA – Head Coach of Aduana Stars, Yusif Abubakar, has said, their 3-0 win over Tema Youth, during the 12 week Ghana Premier League (GPL) match, was due to their ability to neutralize their defensive game plan.
He said, Medeama and Wa All Stars were able to pick points at Dormaa, due to their defensive approach to their game and Tema Youth, also decided to use the same game, but failed.
Speaking in a post-match interview, he said some of the players were frustrated after the game with Wa All Stars and needed to be psyched up to bring the pressure down.
“It has been a very tough preparation, because we realize that those two clubs, which came around to have a draw, did so with a defensive plan. So we needed to find solutions to how to break the defence.
“Tema Youth also came with the same plan and we neutralized it and managed to put three goals behind them.” He added.
“You could see there was some changes in the starting line-up. That shows that we have prepared the team around a lot of players. We prepared all the players so that at any point in time, anyone can come to help the other”, Coach Abubakar added.
Coach Abubakar said he was prepared to face and win against any team especially in away encounters unperturbed by the threat Kotoko their next opponent stands to pose in Kumasi.
“Ours is to go for a win in any game we approach not only Kotoko but any team. We don’t care if we are coming to your house.” He stated.
