Dormaa-Ahenkro, Feb 21, GNA - Head coach of Aduana Stars, Yusif Abubakar, has said even though his team won by two goals to nil (2-0), they were psychological and tactically down as compared to their opponent Al Tahadi Club of Lybia during the first half.
“They played as if, there was nothing at stake in the first half. So I was hard on them during recess. We did not do anything about tactics, but hard talks, which could have angered them, but they remained calm,” he said.
Speaking in a post match interview coach Abubakar said the Lybian side came with a defensive mindset and this changed their game style as they fielded lot of midfielders and defenders, who tried to soak all the pressure from Aduana.
He lamented that his team had so many corners but couldn’t convert them describing it as "very bad".
“We will work on this area in our next game", he stated.
He thanked the life patron and bank roller of the club, Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, the Dormaahene, Coach Kwasi Appiah, the Head Coach of Black Stars and Ibrahim Tanko, his Assistant, journalist and supporters of the club for the support offered them which enabled them to win the match.
Elvis Opoku and Derrick Sasraku found the two goals for them in the second half.
Aduana Stars has therefore progressed to the next stage of the competition.
