Accra, May 16, GNA – An ultra-modern recreational facility, the Nona Graceland Park (NG) estimated at US$850,000, has been inaugurated at Okpoi Gonno in the Ledzokuku Krowor Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.
The Park has a modern Information Communication Technology (ICT) Centre, digital library, game room, children cafeteria, beauty salon, swimming pools and other entertaining facilities.
Speaking an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Titus Nanor, the Director of the Park, said the facility had created an avenue to help unearth and nurture the talents of young people.
He said young ones were adventurous, hence the need for parents and the society in general to encourage and motivate them to channel their exuberances into productive activities that would make them to become useful adults.
Mr Nanor said his outfit had the intention to construct similar facilities in all regional capitals in the country, so that children and young people could have the opportunity to do regular exercises, access ICT education and promote healthy living as well.
He said lack of recreational facilities in the country had denied younger people in deprived areas the privilege to access technology, explore and build on their talents.
Mrs Comfort Tetteh Nanor, the Chief Executive Officer of Graceland Preparatory School said the facility had been designed to make a “one stop place” for children to learn and play and advised parents to endeavour to invest much of their resources into the education, saying “education is a stable and permanent legacy parents can bequeath to their children”.
Mrs Nanor said with regular exercises, the mental faculty of children could easily be improved and entreated parents to allow their children to visit and enjoy the facility to enhance their proper upbringing and development.
