Accra, Jan 2, GNA - The Ghana beyond Aid philosophy by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, should be seen as a challenge to all.
“For this reason those in the helm of affairs should evolve schemes for their subordinates to work towards propelling Ghana beyond generosity of foreign financiers.”
Mr Augustine Saakuur Karbo, General Secretary of the Teachers and Educational Workers Union who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency on in Accra said the policy was also an indictment on them to excel beyond old methods of doing things.
He said Ghana was endowed with high skilled human and material resources that should be harnessed to accelerate the realisation of the President’s dream.
He said “ Ghana must take her destiny into her own hands and embark on programmes that will bring progress , development and prosperity for the citizens both nationals and foreigners, any support in a form of aid ,grant should not take the centre stage of our growth since they constitute an enslavement.”
Mr Saakuur Karbo said aid inhibits creativeness, innovation and could embarrass countries that were over-dependent.
