Making the presentation at a brief ceremony in front of the Tarkwa Central Mosque, Mr Asmah, who was accompanied by the Presiding Member of the assembly, Mr Benjamin Kesse said the presentation forms part of the assembly's annual support to Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.
He said the New Patriotic Party government would implement more projects to improve the lot of Muslim communities and the entire municipality.
Mr Asmah appealed to the leaders of the various Muslim groups to unite and rally behind his administration as they seek to make Tarkwa Nsueam a first class municipality.
Receiving the items, Alhaji Abudulia Cisse, the Municipal Chief Imam, expressed his appreciation to the MCE and prayed for Allah’s blessing for the assembly.
He urged all Muslims to continue to play charitable roles throughout the year.
Ramadan is the ninth month on the Islam calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad.
Fasting during this period is considered by many as a spiritual requirement to cleanse the soul and empathise with the less fortunate.
