April 28, GNA - The Shai Traditional Council has warned all land owners and
estate developers to desist from any form of development or construction within
300-acre radius of the Dodowa Forest Reserve to ensure peace in the traditional
The warning follows the demolition of construction work of estate developers, whose properties were demolished by angry youth of the Shai State last week.
Nene Tei Dsahene Korabo II, Senior Asafoatse of Shai State gave the warning at a meeting with the chiefs and people of the Traditional Council and estate developers at Dodowa in the Shai- Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region on Thursday.
He promised to relocate lands to developers who had any claims with credible documents and had been affected by the demolition exercise.
The aggrieved persons asked the chiefs to expedite action on the relocation promise to bring about lasting peace.
“We have sunk a lot of money and resources into the project and it would therefore be painful if we are not compensated”, they argued.
The youth have been agitating that unscrupulous landowners had been selling part of the Dodowa Forest Reserve to estate developers, which was a threat to their survival.
Last week, confrontation ensued between the estate developers and the youth of the traditional area that resulted in a demolition exercise, where many buildings including a four-storey building were pull down.GNA
