Accra, Jan 2, GNA - It was a great way to start the New Year as the Labadi beach resort served as a fun place, where people organised and met their loved ones to celebrate the end of year and to release stress for this year.
Monday’s New Year party atmosphere at the Labadi beach resort was festive, as many people across other environs dressed in varied outfits, prepared food and wore beach attire to have a memorable day there.
These came to light when the Ghana News Agency visited the Beach to find out how patrons of the beach were celebrating the New Year Day.
Most people run in and out of the water as fast as their legs could take them, because friends and families urged them to come back to the shore as only brave souls drove nearer to the beach.
Every year, most people including; kids troop in their numbers to have fun at the beach and this year was not exempted as it was a holiday.
Most workers used the opportunity to relax at the shores of the beach with their families and friends.
A visit to the beach also indicated that, some traders used the occasion to sell their goods that included; swim wears, African print clothes, sandals and many more.
The business at the beaches were booming as every available spaced was covered with items that could attract patrons of the beach.
Major activities including; horse rides, beach race, football, volleyball and many more took place at the making almost all celebrants busy for the day.
Socialising was the main thing happening at the New Year beach party as many people were also ready and eager to find their loved ones and to create and build more friendship with the strange people they met at the beach.
Foreigners that included; Indians, Lebanese, Americans, and Nigerians were also spotted at the beach with their friends and loved ones to enjoy the holiday.
They danced to the Ghanaian music and enjoyed some local food and hospitality.
Mr Kingsley Jacob who was at the beach with friends said his new year resolution was to pray to God to grant him more knowledge and wisdom with money in abundance so that he could take care of his family.
He said last year 2017 was not an easy year for him and therefore hoped that this New Year would be different for him and his family.
Mr John Sowah, who is a businessman said for once he was able to take a rest from his busy schedules to have fun at the beach and this would also enable him to release stress and therefore thanked God for how far he had brought him and his family.
He resolved to be closer to God than he used to be and to have more money, good health and long life to cater for family.
