Takoradi, July 12, GNA - The Ebiradze Stool family of the Apremdo Traditional Area has said the tenure of Nana Mozu VIII, queen mother of Apremdo is still legal and valid.
The family also said Ebusuapanyin Dominic Yalley continued to be the substantive Head of the Ebiradze Stool Family of the Apremdo Community in the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality of the Western Region.
The family Head, during a Press Conference to explain the current state of affairs within the family and who leads the community said due process had been followed with all the necessary customary rites performed to unseat Nana Egya Kwamina XI after appearing before the Ahanta Traditional Council.
Ebusuapanyin Yalley said the unseated chief, was officially relieved from the Apremdo throne in November last year after alleged misconduct which denigrate the beauty of the Apremdo stool.
Ebusuapanyin Yalley said a new chief had been appointed to take over the rein of governance but that Nana Mozu VIII still remained the substantive Queen Mother of the township without any flaw or agitations.
He said, “We the kingmakers destooled Nana Egya Kwamina XI and he filed a case at the Ahanta Traditional Council, but ask yourself why he did not attend any of the court sitting, never paid for the arbitration fees to enable the Judicial Committee to proceed on the matter until the case was struck out”.
The family called on the security agencies particularly the police not to meddle in the family affairs which may result in unnecessary panic and tension among community folks.
He said very soon, a new chief under the stool name Nana Kwamina XII would be out-doored to steer the development of the local area, adding, “It is our trust and believe that, the newly installed chief will be accorded all the courtesies he deserves”.
Ebusuapanyin Yalley said, “We are therefore calling on corporate bodies, various institutions, the ministries, departments and agencies as well as the general public not to deal with the former Chief, Nana Kwamina XI on matters pertaining to the stool of Apremdo.”
Meanwhile, the deposed Chief Nana Kwamina XI told the Ghana News Agency that he rather decided to discontinue the process of arbitration because he did not recognize Ebusuapayin Yalley as the Head of the kinsmen.
It is said that Ebusuapanyin Yalley at a point in history became ill and therefore appointed one Patrick Arthur to act on his behalf but both oral and written tradition has it that an inheritance only takes place after the death of the substantive legatee.
