Accra, Jan. 12, GNA – MTN Ghana Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of MTN Ghana, has been adjudged ‘Foundation of the Year’ 2017 at the Sustainability and Social Investment Awards held in Accra.
A statement issued by Mr Robert Kuzoe, Acting Corporate Services Executive, said in a citation, MTN Ghana Foundation was eulogised for its achievements during the year under review coupled with its enormous impact on society.
It said MTN Ghana Foundation also won two awards namely: Best Company in Partnership for Community Development and Project of the Year.
It said the awards were in recognition of MTN Ghana Foundation’s initiatives in the areas of corporate social investments, impact of projects in the communities and focus on achieving inclusive growth and sustainable development.
Mr Kuzoe said: “The mission of the MTN Foundation is to improve the quality of lives of people through appropriate and sustainable corporate social responsibility interventions in communities where MTN operates.”
He said these awards testified that MTN Ghana Foundation had positively impacted a number of communities in Ghana.
“The Foundation will continue to brighten the lives of the people by investing in impactful and sustainable projects and ultimately be the benchmark of Corporate Social Responsibility in Ghana,” he added.
He dedicated the awards to the Board Members of the Foundation, Management and staff of MTN and to all the beneficiaries across the country.
The Sustainability and Social Investment Awards is an annual event organised and hosted by Ion Africa Business in partnership with FIRMUS ADVISORY, a leading research company in Ghana.
The awards identify and publicly recognise the exemplary success of all companies operating in Ghana who are engaged in voluntarily improving the quality of life of the people through impactful and sustainable social investment projects and programs in communities.
The event was on the theme: “Investing in people, impacting lives”.
