GNA – Memorial Service was at the weekend held for the late Colonel Joseph Kaku
Eti Akrade Korsah (Rtd) former Western Regional Security Coordinator at the
Bethel Methodist Church in Takoradi.
Col Korsah, 65 who passed away late last year was also former Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive.
The memorial service was officiated by a number of ministers of the Methodist Church led by Right Reverend Edward Ofori Donkoh, Bishop of Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese.
The service was attended by Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and his wife Matilda, present and past Ministers of State including Mr Paul Evans Aidoo, Regional Minister and Deputy Regional Minister, Mr Alfred Ekow Gyan, metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives, and heads of the security agencies.
Others were executive members of National Democratic Congress and functionaries as well as members of the opposition political parties including Nana Owusu Ankoma, New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Sekondi as well as traditional rulers notably Nana Kobina Nketisia, Omanhene of Essikado.
The mortal remains of the late Security Coordinator was laid in state in the church to allow viewing after which it was conveyed to his native town at Esiama in the Ellembelle District of the Region for burial service and interment.
Col Kaku Korsah was born on November 15, 1950 and started his education at the L.A. Methodist Primary School at Esiama, then to Adisadel and Nsien Secondary schools at Cape Coast and Axim.
He enlisted into the Ghana Military Academy and had his military training home and abroad.
He was survived by his wife Philomena, four biological children and an adopted child.
