Accra, March 19, GNA – The month of March has been set aside as the Ghana month, to be celebrated each year, to remind citizens of how past leaders and our forefathers toiled to attain political independence and freedom for the country.
Citizens have, however, been are urged to uphold the month celebration so that we can appreciate the contributions made by the heroes as they struggled and lost their lives to achieve liberation for Ghana.
Speaking in interview with selected students of the Accra Technical University (ATU) with the Ghana News Agency, Mr Manual Owusu, a student of (ATU) said as a citizen of a country he would be law abiding and obey the rules and regulations that had been set by the Government.
Mr Otabil Frimpong, another student of the university stated that his contribution is to make the nation develop and ensure that corruption was out of the nation “so that the united resources of the country will be used for its development”.
Mr Combat Sam another student of the university also said the nation would only develop if the government would take up innovations and technology seriously.
Mr Sam noted that the country would be liberated from the rule of the Western world if Ghana also started their inventions and technology, which would improve and help build the nation.
Mr Obed Boabeng, another student of the university also supported the view that Ghana should concentrate on innovation, science and technology and equip students with the needed tools to exhibit their talents.
Miss Asantewaa Ohene, also said: “to help contribute to the development of the nation, I will focus on my goals and become a better person in the society and also encourage young ones to comply by the rules of nation and strive to become better future leaders”.
Mr Divine Alloy, a student of (ATU) added that: “It’s about the collective efforts we put together to make our nation better. As a good citizen, I will pay my taxes and ensure that the environments are kept clean to avoid the spread of diseases, which can kills us‘’.GNA
