April 17, GNA - About four communities in the Kwahu Afram Plains
North District would soon be connected to the national electricity grid as part
of efforts to promote development in the district.

the District Chief Executive for Kwahu Afram Plains North, made this known
during a Social Auditing Forum organised by the National Commission for Civic
Education (NCCE) at Adukrom.
Auditing is intended to bring duty bearers or those tasked with various
governmental responsibilities closer to the communities they serve to account
for their stewardship and together with the community members deliberate on
developmental issues in a manner that brings hope and assurance to the people.
The DCE urged
the beneficiary communities to support the initiative to make it a success and
appealed to the people to take advantage of the various flagship programmes of
the government including; Planting for Food and Jobs and Planting for Food and
Export programmes to better their standards of living.
He said the
government was prepared to support, particularly the youth to engage in the
programmes to help create employment.
Mr Kena assured
that, the reshaping of the Adukrom Town roads would resume after being halted
due to mechanical failure on the grader undertaking the project and informed
the people about the construction of a new Clinic at Adukrom to serve the
community and neighboring towns.
Nkansah, the District Director of NCCE advised the people not to see elections
as an end in itself, but an opportunity to address their developmental needs.
Social Auditing provides an avenue for interaction while ensuring transparency,
accountability and minimising corruption.

them on projects and programmes that were executed by the assembly to ensure

teachers posted to the area and to provide potable water to the clinic.
