He pleaded guilty to both and was convicted on his own plea.
Police Chief Inspector Charles Anku told the Court presided over by Mrs Florence Kai Otu that on Sunday November 11, 2012 at about 18hours, Badu was in charge of an Opel Astra Taxi Cab with registration number GT 4476-11 with four passengers on board driving from Bosomadwe towards Nyankumasi Ahenkro, both in the Central Region.
He said upon reaching a section of the road near the Nyankumasi Ahenkro Senior High School, the car fell into a pothole and the convict lost control of the steering, veered into the opposite lane and crashed onto an electricity pole by the road side.
He said two of the passengers on board, Mr Ishmael Asamoah and Mr Kwadwo Opoku, who sustained various degrees of injuries were rushed to the Abura Dunkwa District Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
He said a post mortem performed on both bodies indicated the cause of death as severe head injuries
