Accra, Nov.9, GNA - The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), has been served with an interlocutory injunction from an Accra High Court to restrain from going ahead to organise its Eastern Regional Election scheduled for November 8, 2018.
The suit filed by the lawyers for the Reverend Asante Wiafe, the Suspended Regional Chairman of the Association, was intended to prevent the scheduled regional elections from going on.
According Rev Wiafe, if the election was allowed to go on, he as an interested party would be disenfranchised and also prevented from contesting in the regional elections.
Mr Wiafe also demanded for his immediate reinstatement to his position insisting that his suspension by the Association was unlawful.
Rev Wiafe earlier this year was suspended with immediate effect by the National Executive Committee of CLOGSAG, for issuing some press releases last year, calling on government to pay members their long overdue arrears of the one-time premium.
