Gomoa (C/R), Dec. 5, GNA – Nana Asare Baah,
the Odikro of Gomoa Somanya has appealed to the Agona East District Assembly to
construct speed ramps in the community to curb the rate of pedestrian knock
downs in the area.
He said the uncontrolled speeding by drivers had claimed a number of lives while some victims have been incapacitated.
Nana Baah made the plea in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Monday at Gomoa Somanya in the Agona East District of the Central Region.
He said the people are not happy with the situation and called on the Agona East District Assembly to immediately do something about it to bring some sanity on the roads.
Nana Baah said he had made several appeals at the Roads and Highways Ministry for the construction of the ramps, but to no avail, hence his appeal through the media for support.
The chief also pleaded for the provision of a health facility in the area to save the people from travelling to Agona Kwanyako to access medical attention, which sometimes results in the death of the patients due to the distance.
