Accra, April 30, GNA - Accra Golden Lions Club International on Tuesday donated drugs worth GHÂ˘ 600 to the Help Age Ghanas Day Centre.
The drugs included Glibenil, Enaphage, Malaria drugs, and Asmanol tablets as well as Deep Heat Ointment, Absorbent Gauze Bandage, Cough syrup, Zinc Oxide Plaster, Ascovit-Cee, and iron drugs among others.
Nana Baah Okoampah VII, past President of the club, who made the donation on behalf of his colleagues, said the donation was part of the clubs goal of replenishing the medication of the aged.
He said the donation forms part of an annual philanthropic activity to enhance health delivery among the aged under the care of the centre and other health institution in the country.
For the past seven years, Lions Club International has worked diligently to ensure that the elderly are in better health condition without any setback, he said and appealed to the authorities of the Centre to make good use of the drugs for the benefit the aged.
Madam Vivian Schandorf, Nurse in-charge of the centre, thanked the Accra Golden Lions Club International for the donation and said the support would improve the efficiency of health delivery services to the aged.
The drugs are very effective and does not expire early as other drugs on the market....this will really help us to solve our major health challenges in the centre, she said.
