November 10, 2009

Representatives of the companies, Mr John Monteiro, President of ASEC Corporation and Mr Adrain Olivera, Vice President of Global Entrepreneurial Endeavours announced this when they called on Ms Betty Bosomtwi-Sam, Deputy Western Regional Minister at Sekondi.

Mr Monteiro said the process of the project would require government's undertaking to purchase the water and electricity.

Mr Monteiro said the companies have also proposed an affordable housing project.

He said the companies were ready to go into partnership with the government, local authorities and firms to get the project started. He assured that training of the locals would be high on the agenda in such partnership.

She said the proposals of the companies were timely because waste management was becoming a problem for the country and especially for the region following the discovery of oil in the area.
