Court orders two to be held over robbery

Kumasi, Feb 28, GNA – Two men, who allegedly attacked and robbed a national service personnel of his laptop computer and mobile phone, have been ordered by a Kumasi Circuit Court, presided over by Mr. William Boampong, to be held in prison custody.

Yussif Adams and Yussif Musah are facing charges of conspiracy and robbery and they both pleaded not guilty.

They would make their next court appearance on Friday, March 13.

Police Inspector Timothy Amoako said the incident happened at Bomso near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on February 8, at about 2300 hours.

The victim, Blagogee Keli Kobla, was returning to the house after attending a programme, when the pair and another person on the run, identified only as Watara, riding together on a motorbike and armed with a locally-manufactured pistol, attacked him.

They seized his laptop computer and cellular phone costing GH¢1,300 but they were later intercepted by members of the Bomso Neighbourhood Watch Committee.

The prosecution said Adams and Musah were arrested but Watara managed to slip through.

He said the stolen computer and phone had been recovered.
