NLA supports kidney patient

Accra, Jan. 30, GNA - The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has presented a cheque for GH₵ 10,000 to Nicholas Ofosuhene, a kidney patient who is going for transplant surgery.

Ofosuhene, a university graduate, currently on admission at the Renal Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra has been battling with the kidney infection since 2012.

Mr Fiifi Amissah, Manager in charge of Special Projects at NLA, said the support formed part of the corporate social responsibility of the Authority.

He wished Ofosuhene well and prayed that he comes out of the transplant surgery successful.

Ofosuhene thanked NLA for the support, saying it has come at the right time as he is preparing for the transplant surgery.

He said an amount of GH₵ 60,000 is needed for the surgery to be carried out and through the support of well-wishing organisations, he had been able to raise GH₵ 40,000.

He has therefore appealed to other institutions and organisation to come to his aid to enable him raised the remaining amount of money and go for the transplant surgery in due course.
