Winneba, Dec. 31, GNA - Saint John the Divine Anglican Church in Winneba, has donated a quantity of assorted items valued GH¢ 1,000 to the children's ward of the Effutu Municipal Government Hospital.

The items included sachet and bottled treated water, soft drinks, fruits, bread, soap, toilet rolls and rice.

Reverend Canon Augustus Kweku Buadi, Priest in-charge of the Church, who presented the items at a ceremony at the Ward in Winneba said, the donation formed part of the church's social activities, and marking of its 95th anniversary celebrations.

He said there is more blessing in giving rather than receiving,  and urged  Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of giving,  in order for the Lord to bless us, as He has been doing for others who in their small ways remember the vulnerable and the needy in  society.

Miss. Saudalu Issaka, a nurse at the Ward, who received the items on behalf of Management, thanked the Church for the kind gesture, adding that the items would be used for the purpose for which they were donated.

Prayers were said for the sick, while the congregation had fun with the children on admission.
