Ghana Tourism Authority in Upper West supports Yiri Orphanage

Wa, Feb. 19, GNA - Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in Upper West Region has delivered assorted food items and toiletries valued over GH¢1000.00 to the Wa Yiri Orphanage, a gesture officials said ‘symbolises love’ to the vulnerable.

The items included; cocoa made products - chocolates, milo and others; a bag of rice and toilet rolls which were handed over to the Orphanage by Management of GTA in the Region.

The Upper West Regional Manager of GTA, Mr Moses Ndewin Ndebugri, who led a team to make the presentation spent some time socialising with the orphans and the facility’s staff. 

The hanging out session largely bordered on raising basic questions and answers on cocoa in Ghana and its importance to health life.

Mr Ndebugri expressed gratitude to the management of the orphanage for their love and care to the kids and the good work shown to needy children in the Region.

The presentation was part of activities to mark the national chocolate day on 14th February to highlight the importance of consuming Ghana cocoa products.

The GTA Manager appealed to Ghanaians to consume made in Ghana products to help grow the economy.

Rev. Daniel Seidu, the Director of Wa Yire Orphanage expressed gratitude to GTA for the unwavering support, recounting the extent the gesture would assist the children.

He told the Ghana News Agency that the institution had cared for several orphans in the Region who have successfully completed tertiary education and now placed in top career jobs.
