Accra, Sept. 11, GNA - Fankobaa United Football Academy, has signed an agreement with Morgan International School, Swedru in the Central Region.
The partnership, is to inculcate sports with education in its youth development plans.
The former local football giants, in its bid to return to its former glory, are looking at collaborating with the Swedru based school for the project, which would commence on September 10.
In a statement copied to GNA Sports, it said, Fankobaa Utd Academy, would coordinate all the sporting disciplines of the school and students would take part in swimming, tennis, volleyball, basketball and football alongside academic work.
It said, the Academy would establish within the school a curriculum supporting sports education as an integral part of the Morgan International School syllabus.
“We intend to run Level 1 & 2 coaching courses, referees course, diet & nutrition courses among many others, not only for students but for the sporting fraternity at large,” said the Nana Kwaku Agyemang, Director of Sports of the Fankobaa Utd Academy.
Mr Opoku Boakye-Yiadom, head of the school, said “this provides a unique opportunity to twin education with Sports, in an established and reputable international school, with a British Curriculum.
“We are very excited with the prospect of not only developing footballers, but educated footballers as well,” he said.
