Accra, June. 12, GNA - The National Service Scheme (NSS) has digitized its certificate issuance system to enable service Personnel, who have successfully completed their service to apply for their certificates online.

“The address of the online portal is".

This is will be done in collaboration with Clearing and Delivery Hub Limited (DHL), to deliver the Certificates to Personnel who opt for their Service at their various locations.

Mr Mustapha Ussif, Executive Director of the NSS, said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra, on Tuesday.

He said the implementation of the online certificate delivery system is aimed at helping the Scheme to address the challenges such as, low collection rates of certificates, lack of proper inventory systems to file certificates and the difficulty locating certificates and keeping data of certificates available or collected.

Mr Ussif said the implementation of a comprehensive inventory system such as this, will enable the Scheme to allow the proper filing of certificates and also help with the management of certificates by a central web system, which will be coordinated by a dedicated team to ensure that all regional offices access the platform in safeguarding full accountability for every certificate.

He said this initiative will reduce the time spent by personnel travelling from their destinations to pick up certificates at the various regional offices of the Scheme, adding that, “Personnel can also request online and self-pickup on appointed date.”

The Executive Director said the system would enable applicants to upload any of the acceptable National Identification Cards (Voter ID, Driving License, Passport and SSNIT Cards) online before a request can be approved.

This also, he said, would save time, money and energy and reduce the issuance of certificate from hours to minutes and the stress that comes with the manual process.

Mr Ussif said DHL will also provide a tracking opportunity for personnel to monitor the progress and status of their request and also to automatically issue an attestation when needed.

He said this is to transform the way personnel receive their certificates and bring immense efficiency to a system that was plagued with problems for many years.
