Mampong (Ash), Oct. 31, GNA – Mr Daniel Appau-Ohyeamang, Municipal Chief Executive of Asante-Mampong, has called on the youth in Zongo communities in the country not to allow politicians to influence them with gifts to engage in acts of political violence.
He stressed that they should not support any evil agenda to create confusion as the struggle for political power intensified.
Mr Appau-Ohyeamang, who is National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Mampong, made the call when he interacted with Muslim youth in the constituency.
He called on Ghanaians to abide by the country’s electoral rules to ensure free, fair and incident-free elections.
Mr Appau-Ohyeamang noted that Ghana had won the admiration of some countries for promoting democracy, which needed to be protected.
He appealed to his colleague politicians to promote peace and security for national development.
Mr Appau-Ohyeamang asked the electorate to retain the NDC in power to continue with its massive development, and cited school blocks, and health, water and sanitation facilities provided throughout the country.
He said the NDC would wrest the Mampong seat from the New Patriotic Party.
