Tamale, Aug. 31, GNA - Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, NPP Presidential Candidate for the 2012 elections has won the National Super Delegates Congress elections of the Party held in Tamale on Sunday.
He polled 62 votes out of the 70 total votes cast while his closest contender Mr Alan Kyeremanteng managed four votes.
Mr Joe Ghartey, a former Attorney General and Francis Addai-Nimoh had two votes each.
Three of the seven candidates, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, a former Minister of Information and Mr Kofi Osei Ameyaw, a Member of Parliament (MP) for Asuogyaman had no votes.
The election, which was held under tight security, was supervised by Mr Bruce Ayisi, Northern Regional Director of the Electoral Commission.
He said they expected 71 delegates to cast their but 70 of them voted as at the close of voting at 15:00 hours.
Mr Mohammed Kudus, Northern Regional Communications Director of the NPP commended the supporters of all the aspirants for conducting themselves in a civil manner.
