They were Mr. Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Emmanuel Boampong of the National Democratic Party, Mr. Andrews Abrokwah Boateng, People™s National Convention, and Mr. Godwin Yaw Denteh, Progressive People Party.
They walked through the principal streets of the town and gathered at the Jubilee Park, where they took turns to address the people.
The event was jointly organized by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the Federation of Youth Association of Ghana.
Mr. Anyimadu-Antwi advised the people against the politics of insults and intolerance and called on political party leaders to ensure peace during Election 2012.
All the candidates pledged to ensure peace on December 7.
Mr Paul Oppong, the NCCE Municipal Director, asked the youth to refrain from violence.
