Accra, March 14, GNA - Yurias Quandahor, unemployed has been put before court for allegedly raising the dress of a 16-year-old girl and removing her panty whilst asleep under a mosquito net at Kaneshie.
Quandahor 27 charged with indecent assault pleaded not guilty. According to the accused he entered into the complainant’s net to ascertain if she was his girlfriend.
The court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku remanded Quandahor into Police custody to reappear on March 23.
Prosecuting, Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire said the complainant aged 16 resides at Kaneshie, Akutu Junction with her Aunty whilst the accused also lives at North Kaneshie.
Prosecution said on February 21, this year, the
complainant was sleeping in a mosquito net on a veranda and around 03:00 hours at Akutu Junction.
According to the prosecutor, the victim noticed that someone had sneaked into the mosquito net in which she was sleeping, raised her dress and had removed her panty.
Prosecution said the victim held the accused person and with assistance of some witnesses the accused person was nabbed and sent to the Kaneshie Police Station where a complaint was lodged.
In Quandahor‘s caution investigation statement he admitted entering the victim’s mosquito net whilst she was asleep.
According to accused he only tapped the complainant to find out her identity thinking she was his girlfriend but denied removing her panty after raising her dress.
