Isaac Ike and Joseph David both unemployed conspired and robbed one Sophia Esseku of her 35 wrist watches worth GH₵ 6, 500.00; 20 pieces of Lacoste Shirts worth GH₵ 1,200.00; five ladies blouse valued at GH₵ 500.00; 10 pair of ladies jeans trousers valued at GH₵ 700.00; and two pieces of men’s suit worth GH₵ 1,000.00.
They also robbed her of five pair of Khaki trousers worth GH₵ 500.00; one Techno mobile phone costing GH₵ 500.00; two pieces of ladies suit worth GH₵ 600.00; two pieces of golden anklets worth GH₵; 1,000.00, 34 pieces of perfumes valued at GH₵ 700.00; and an amount of GH₵ 150.00.
They are to serve 15 years each for conspiracy and 15 years each for robbery and both to run concurrently.
Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Kwabena Adu told the Court that the complainant is a sales girl in a boutique shop at Teshie first junction and lives at Teshie Maami, while the convicted persons are both Nigerian nationals.
He said on March 12, the complainant was in her shop when Isaac entered and pretended to be buying some items.
He told the Court that the complainant made an attempt to go out of the shop to pick something, but Joseph who was by then standing in front of the shop pulled a knife at the complainant and threatened her to go back into the shop.
The prosecution said the convicts both tied the complainant up with a rope, covered her head with a polythene bag and pushed her into the washroom of the shop and made away with the items listed above.
He said a witness in the case who knew Isaac at Osu saw him carrying a big black polythene bag containing the stolen items rushing out of the complainants shop.
Police Chief Inspector Adu said on March 15, the complainant led the police to a popular drinking spot at Osu Allata where Isaac normally goes to have fun, and he was found there and subsequently arrested.
He told the Court that on April 7, at Teshie first junction, the complainant also came across Joseph and alerted the police for his arrest.
