Jachie (Ash), Sept. 30, GNA - A minister of the Gospel of Christ, has entreated the leadership of the nation to eschew corrupt practices in all its forms to help protect public funds.
"We cannot make any meaningful progress in alleviating poverty to improve the livelihood of the people unless those entrusted with state resources ensure their judicious use", the Very Reverend Paul Adu-Gyamfi, outgoing Minister in-charge of the Jachie Methodist Church stated.
He said greed, lukewarm attitude towards national issues and the lack of patriotism on the part of some leaders had since independence cost the nation.
Very Reverend Adu-Gyamfi was speaking on the topic: "Make Use of Your Riches Wisely", at a farewell service in his honour at Jachie in the Bosomtwe District.
He is on a transfer to the Akomadan Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana.
The Minister also implored Christians to adhere strictly to Biblical principles in their endeavours in order to effect positive changes in the society.
Very Reverend Nyarko Andam, Kumasi Diocesan Synod Secretary of the Church, lauded the Minister for his vision, which had led to the steady growth of the Akomadan Society.
He tasked him to continue with the good work at his next destination.
