Adansi-Biakwaso (Ash), April 19, GNA - The assembly member for Adansi-Biakwaso, a farming community in the Adansi North District, Mr. Augustine Kofi Amoako, has appealed for the construction of a new classroom block for the local basic school.
The existing structure, he said, was in a terrible state, adding that, “it can best be described as an accident waiting to happen”.
Making the appeal through the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he warned that the building, which had become weak and developed gaping cracks on the walls, could collapse at any moment.
Mr. Amoako said it was risky for the school children and their teachers to continue using the classrooms and asked that the government acted without delay to ensure their safety.
The structure was built by the community through its own resources and labor decades ago.
