The exercise, which involved market women, residents and the staff of LaNMMA, was supervised by the Municipal Environmental Health Officer Mr Joseph Quacoe and Alhaji Dramani Saaka, the LaNMMA Municipal Co-Ordinating Director.
The exercise which started at 0600 hrs continued till 1100 hrs with the removal of refuse from choked drains along the principal streets in the municipality.
Participants in the exercise also swept along the main roads while others de-silted some of the choked gutters.
The areas covered included Atomic Junction through Zongo Junction to Ritz Junction.
The exercise was supported with four compaction trucks from various companies including Nkosuo Waste, Zoom Domestic, Alliance Waste and Honest Waste- these went round and carted the piled refuse for disposal.
