Sunyani, Feb. 18, GNA – The Brong-Ahafo office of MTN Ghana, the country’s leading mobile telecommunication company collected 984 pints of blood during a blood donation exercise held in Sunyani and Techiman Municipalities to mark this year’s “chocolate day”.
The “MTN Save the Blood Donation” exercise received impressive turnout by persons between 17 and 60 years and thus exceeded its target of 500 pints of blood.
Last year, the Company collected 425 pints of blood in a similar blood donation exercise.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the sidelines of the exercise, Mr. Akwasi Kwarteng, the MTN’s Territory Sales Controller for Brong-Ahafo South said the blood would be stocked at the Regional Hospital in Sunyani.
It forms part of a nationwide exercise being organised by the telecommunication company to stock the country’s blood banks.
Mr. Kwarteng expressed appreciation to “sense of love” exhibited by the donors, and also commended the medical team from the Sunyani Regional Hospital for the successful exercise in both Municipalities.
