Nkawkaw (E/R), Sept 08, GNA - The Holy Family Hospital at Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West District, has taken delivery of medical equipment costing about GH¢ 20,000.00 to enhance the quality of care.
These include Bilitron phototherapy unit, a flow meter and oxygen cylinder.
They were a donation from Newmont Akyem Mines and on hand, to do the presentation was Mr. Joep Coenen, the General Manager.
He said helping to bring quality healthcare to the people in the mining operation area and beyond, had been made one of their major priorities.
They chose to support the Holy Family Hospital because it had been serving the health needs of people in a wider geographical area, stretching to the Birim North District.
He expressed optimism that the supply of the equipment would significantly assist to reduce child mortality in the area.
He asked that the management of the facility ensured that they were handled with care to achieve the expected outcomes and prolong their lifespan.
Dr Genevieve Insaidoo, a Paediatrician in the hospital, received the gift and applauded Newmont for the gesture.
She promised to take good care of them to save the lives of new born babies.
