Tamale, Jan. 2, GNA – Fourteen deliveries were recorded in four hospitals in the Tamale Metropolis on New Year’s Day.
The Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) recorded four births, two males and two females, the Tamale Central Hospital (TCH), recorded two births with one male and one female; while the Tamale West Hospital (TWH) also had seven deliveries with two males and five females; and the Seventh Day Adventist Health facility (SDA) recorded only one male delivery.
Two of the deliveries recorded at the TTH were through caesarean while the TWH which recorded the highest number of seven babies were non Caesarean deliveries.
The SDA hospital, however, recorded one male birth, the same number it recorded in the 2017 New Year.
Madam Zenab Adam, Midwife in-charge of the Labour Ward at the TTH, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said two of the mothers were, however, still on admission and there were no complications in any of the deliveries.
