Tema, July 13, GNA - Madam Dzola Kpikpitse, Headmistress of the Westfield International School, has called on parents to make the education of their children their major priority.
She urged parents to spend much of their earnings on their children’s educational needs.
Madam Kpikpitse made the call at the launch of the 10th anniversary celebration of the Westfield International School at Klagon, near Tema on Friday.
It was on the theme ‘’Promoting Discipline in Schools, the Surest Way for a Holistic Education’.
Activities planned for the celebration include Inter-Schools Quiz, Spectacles Day, Hats Day, Gospel Rock Show, Fun Games and Thanksgiving Service.
Madam Kpikpitse said the development of the human resource was key for the advancement of the society and advised stakeholders to invest in that sector.
The Headmistress entreated the pupils to be disciplined and endeavour to show respect to their teachers and parents as well.
She said the school, which started with two pupils now had more than 400 pupils, adding that the school would be taking the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) next year.
Madam Kpikpitse appealed to the Ghana Education Service to extend the distribution of teaching and learning materials to the private schools as well to ensure effective teaching and learning in all sector.
