Twifo Hemang (C/R), Sept. 6, GNA - The Hemang Lower Denkyira District Assembly has presented 300 dual desks and 1,200 hexagonal tables and chairs to the District Education Directorate for onward presentation to schools in the District.
A total of 58 Kindergarten and four basic schools in the district are expected to benefit from the gesture.
Mr Emmanuel Kojo Nannah, Chief Executive, who made the presentation said the package was in pursuance of the government’s vision of improving education in the district.
He was hopeful that it would help reduce the problem, which hampered the smooth teaching and learning in schools in the district.
Mr Nannah said the Assembly in addition to the supply of furniture would build classroom blocks to bridge the infrastructural gap and as well provide other educational materials towards achieving quality education in the district.
Mr Gregory Amoako Arthur, Deputy Director of Human Recourse at the Hemang Lower Denkyira District Education Directorate on behalf of the District Education Director, expressed gratitude to the assembly for the gesture, saying the desks would go a long way to alleviate the plight of schools in acquiring furniture in the District.
He urged the heads of beneficiary schools to make good use of the furniture.
