Accra, Aug 31, GNA - Mr Gyasi Ankrah Senior Cadre and Resource Person of the Patriot Club of Ghana (PCG), has advised Ghanaians to imbue the spirit of discipline and patriotism to help hasten national growth and development.
He said the nation requires leaders with positive attitudes and selflessness to help propel and guarantee social and economic security.
Mr Ankrah said this on Saturday at the second passing out ceremony of 33 people who went through a four-month orientation course in fishing, farming, first aid and swimming.
He urged the graduates to live lifestyles worthy of emulation to attract more people to the club.
¯Continue the good works that your predecessors started about 30 years ago in order to protect and maintain the integrity of the club¯, he said.
Pastor Daniel Ebenezer Amuzu of the Action Fire Faith was adjudged the over-all best civilian as well as the best male civilian in academics.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency later, Pastor Amuzu called on the public to join the club to enable them to acquire basic knowledge in human rights protection and rule of law.
Special awards were given to those who excelled in the categories of best conduct, best female and best male in academics and those who performed creditably in foot drill.
The PCG, formerly the Civil Defence Organization, was established in 1984 to assist the security network in Ghana to promote peace.
