Aiyinasi (W/R), Sept. 13, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament for Ellembele, and Elite Educational Providers has organized a month long vacation classes for Junior and Senior High School students in the Ellembele Constituency.
The programme which ended in August 2018, conducted internal examinations to assess the performance of the students.
The aim was to improve upon the academic performance of the students and to ensure productive activities during the long vacation.
Speaking to the GNA, the MP said the improvement of academic expectations is high on his list as education will propel children to achieve greater things.
For this reason, he said, ‘’we cannot allow our future leaders to be out of school simply because a parent cannot afford to bear the cost of their wards education. We must do everything we can to ensure we increase enrolment, improve on infrastructure, equip and motive our teachers and to try as hard as we can, to ensure that quality education and better performances are not compromised in our schools’’.
Mr Eric Kaku, the Centre coordinator of the Elite Providers, said 34 teachers were employed in the effort to handle only the core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Science (EMS).
He said the tuition took place in 8 selected centres and registered not less than 1,295 students from JHS1-JHS3.
the SHS section, he said, which focused on Science, Business and Arts students, also registered more than 150 students from SHS schools in Ellembele and surrounding communities.
