Accra, March 14, GNA – The Management of the Dominion University College has inaugurated a 17-member Governing Council, chaired by Nana Baafour Osei Hyeamann Bratton VI, Chairman of the College, to steer the affairs of the College for the next four years.
Bishop Isaac Clive Mould, the Vice Chairman, Action Chapel International College of Bishops, administered the Oaths of Office and Secrecy to the members.
They include: Professor Felix Hammond, President of the College, Prof Nicholas Nsowah-Nuamah, Mrs Elsie Appau-Klum and Prof Ernest Yanful, all representing the African Leadership Institute.
Others are: Prof Samuel Yeboah Mensah, Former Provost, College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, University of Cape Coast, Dr Rita Owusu-Amankwa, Director, Ministry of Gender and Social Protection, Dr Kwame Dattey, Former Executive Secretary, National Accreditation Board, Mr Jacob Osei Yeboah, an Entrepreneur, Mr Samuel Boakye, Executive Secretary of Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences and Mr Ebenezer Twum Asante, Vice President of MTN sub-Saharan Africa.
The rest are Mr Daniel Asiedu, Former Chief Executive Officer, Zenith Bank, Prof Seth Asare-Danso, from the University of Cape Coast, Rexford Atunwey, Registrar, Dominion University College, and Mr John Kinyorbaan Gabuljia, as the representative of students.
Two representatives of the Faculty and Administrative staff are yet to be nominated.
Prof Hammond said the members were carefully selected from diverse professional backgrounds with some being prominent bankers, academics, business people, higher education experts, human capital experts and gender and international development experts.
He said Dominion University had a new bold and aggressive vision to be a leading centre of excellence in career and employability skills development.
The Professor stated that the rich backgrounds would help drive the College to accomplish the vision.
"I have no doubt that by the time the term of this Council comes to an end we will be in the frontline".
