Peki (V/R), Nov. 11, GNA - Mr Humphrey Ellis Agbeehia, a Customs Officer, Training and Development Unit, of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority has donated books worth GHȼ7,800.00 to schools in the South Dayi and Afadjato South districts in the Volta Region in support of government’s Free Senior High School (FSHS) policy.
The donation covers four senior high schools and 27 public junior high schools in the South Dayi District and four selected junior high schools in the Afadjato South District.
He described the FSHS policy as "good intervention," especially for deprived children and asked stakeholders to support its implementation.
Mr Agbeehia said the donation was to inculcate the habit of reading in pupils and students and to help address falling standard of education in the districts.
Mr Jonathan Delase Agbley, Headmaster, Peki Senior High School, expressed appreciation for the gesture from Mr Agbeehia, a former Tutor of the School.
